July–August (Aadi) · 1 day
Aadi Pooram (ஆடிப் பூரம்) is Andal's tirunakshatram — Pooram in the month of Aadi. Srivilliputhur is the named town. Iyengar and other Sri Vaishnava houses keep it; Shaiva-only houses may not. It sits inside Aadi but is not Aadi Velli (Amman) and not Aadi Perukku (the river). Young girls in some houses keep a short pavai-style offering — a doll, a flower, a sweet — looking forward to Margazhi. Do not make that mandatory for every Tamil child. In 2026 the date is Friday, 14 August.
Observances
Andal puja
A lamp for Andal, a Thiruppavai verse, and a sweet — often payasam or akkaravadisal.
A printed Andal and verse 1 of the Thiruppavai are enough if Srivilliputhur is far.
Pavai offering
In some houses, girls seat a small doll and offer flowers. Not every Vaishnava house does this.

In the US
US Sri Vaishnava temples mark Andal Jayanti on the nearest weekend if the Friday is a workday. The home lamp still belongs on the 14th. Akkaravadisal can be a simple sakkarai pongal if the full recipe is not in the kitchen.
